Dog Walking & Puppy Visits
Scientific research and expert canine advice states that dogs should not be left alone for more than about 4 hours. They are more likely to develop behaviour and health issues if their natural behaviour needs are not met.
Their primary sense is smell - that’s how they understand the world so regular stimulation is essential for them.
Socialising and engaging with humans and other dogs is normal for most pet dogs so if you’re working all day or have other commitments out of the house, I’m able to provide your dog with a walk, some company, fun play and a vital toilet break.
For everyone's safety I’ll walk your dog as long as they are:-
-
Comfortable and friendly around other dogs and people
-
Micro chipped - a legal requirement since April 2016
-
Wearing a collar with ID tags - a legal requirement since 1992
-
Up to date with regular Flea and Worm treatment
-
Up to date with all vaccinations
-
Spayed / Neutered (once they are old enough)
Group walks 60 minutes
Monday to Friday | Approx. 10am to 11am | Approx. 1 pm to 2 pm
Each group normally consists of just 3-4 dogs
I’ll collect your dog in my dog-friendly vehicle and take them to local parks and woodland areas
for some exercise, company and all-important smell stimulation.
Solo walks or visits
Monday to Friday | 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
These are more suitable if your dog prefers to be alone, has some health issues or is younger or older and just needs a quiet stroll in your local streets.
Puppies need lots of care and attention so a puppy visit can provide your little one with food, fun, garden access, a short local walk (depending on their age and vaccinations) and a vital toilet break.
Over-exercising a puppy is potentially harmful so I'm happy to provide information on the correct guidelines for healthy exercise.
All dogs will be kept on lead unless I have your permission to walk off lead and I’m confident in their recall and socialisation skills.
All street based dog walking is done on lead, in accordance with the local authority's
Public Space Protection Order (formerly Dog Control Order).
After their walk they will be returned home, towelled off if wet or muddy, given fresh water, a snack if requested, and be ready for a rest before you get home to see them.
Providing this exercise, stimulation and break in their day can prevent or reduce stress based behaviour problems so everyone benefits, most of all your dog.
Before either of us commit to anything I’ll come to your home and meet you and your dog(s) for a free consultation. We can discuss all your dog’s needs and make a personalised, pet centred Care Agreement. I'll also bring all my relevant certification to show you (DBS check, Insurance documents, Training certificates, Terms & Conditions etc.)

Home Visits for Cats

During a Home visit to your cat(s) I will:-
-
Visit them for 30 minutes (Longer if I have time ... Most cats like company and attention so they don't want a pop in service!)
-
Feed them and refresh their water (owners provide all food)
-
Clean all their food & water bowls
-
Clean/change their litter trays (owners provide litter & cleaning materials)
-
Tidy any mess caused by the cat(s)
-
Provide affection, play, company and brushing/combing!
-
Assess the need for veterinary healthcare and call you or your designated emergency contact person to discuss any necessary action.
Whilst visiting your cat(s) I'll also be providing a free home security check by:
Moving post away from the door Moving wheelie bins for street collection
Turning lights on and off Closing / Opening curtains or blinds Watering plants
Monitoring your property and calling you or your designated emergency contact person to discuss any necessary action
Cat home visits are offered at a minimum of one visit per day. Each cat needs to be seen and checked at least once in any 24 hour period. Anything less is not only unfair to the cat(s) but potentially harmful. My recommendation is always 2 visits a day.
If your cat(s) has access to a cat flap then we must discuss this too. It’s often safer to keep your cat(s) inside your home whilst you’re away but I will respect your preference . A disclaimer will need to be signed if outdoor access is to continue during your absence.
